The 2019 Toyota Tacoma is one of the most hardworking trucks in the business. Built to pull double duty as a cargo AND family hauler, this midsize pick offers a surprisingly roomy interior with plenty of room for everyone. Just how many passengers can fit? We break down the two available cab styles and their seating capacities below.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Cab Styles and Seating Capacity
The 2019 Tacoma offers drivers the choice between two interior cab styles: Access Cab and Double Cab. The Access Cab style is the smaller of the two with two exterior doors and sliding front seats that allow passengers access to the back row. This cab style is available on select trims including SR, SR5, TRD Sport, and TRD Off-Road.
The Double Cab is the larger of the two cab choices on the 2019 Tacoma and a better fit for drivers who plan to do a lot of passenger hauling. Models equipped with the Double Cab come outfitted with four full doors making it easy for passengers in both rows to get in and out of the vehicle without disrupting their neighbors. Rear passengers will also enjoy extra legroom and room to stretch in the Double Cab, and it’s available on all 2019 Tacoma configurations.

The seating capacity of each Tacoma configuration will depend on the cab style. Models outfitted with the Access Cab will offer seating for up to four total passengers while models outfitted with the Double Cab will offer seating for up to five total passengers.
The Choice between the Access Cab and Double Cab will largely fall on budget and how much passenger hauling drivers are planning on. If passenger hauling will be a daily occurrence, we suggest upgrading to the Double Cab.
