While a full redesign helped to make the recently-released 2019 Toyota RAV4 more adventure-ready than ever, Toyota is already looking to the future with a new TRD Off-Road trim heading to the 2020 Toyota RAV4 lineup. This off-road-ready trim adds new features including trail-ready tires, an updated suspension system, standard Multi-Terrain Select, and TRD Off-Road badging throughout the cabin and exterior. Learn more about the 2020 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road model, showcased at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show this week, below.

Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive
The Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive system that was added to the 2019 Toyota RAV4 lineup as an available feature will come standard on all 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-Road models. When activated, the Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive system connects rear wheels, independently or as a pair depending on conditions, with the power they need to generate additional traction. When AWD isn’t necessary, Rear Driveline Disconnect reroutes the power to optimize fuel efficiency.
Standard Multi-Terrain Select
Like Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive, Multi-Terrain Select is also a feature new to the 2019 Toyota RAV4 lineup. It also comes standard on all 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-Road models and allows drivers to manually select between Mud & Sand mode, Rock & Dirt mode, Snow mode, and more to optimize the torque based on current driving conditions.
All 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-Road models will also be outfitted with specialty TRD alloy wheels with Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail all-terrain tires. The tires are Severe snow Rated and provide protection from damage and debris thanks to a special tread pattern, square-shoulder design, and open-shoulder grooving.

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 lineup was released just a few short weeks ago, so drivers have quite a while to wait for the new 2020 RAV4 models. We expect the 2020 Toyota RAV4 lineup to be released in the second half of this calendar year like past RAV4 models. Until then, find current RAV4 models at Serra Toyota in Birmingham.
