Fuel economy information for the 2021 Toyota Sienna/Venza

Every day that passes is another day closer to the arrival and on-sale dates for the 2021 Toyota Sienna and the 2021 Toyota Venza. The Sienna is getting a full clean-sheet redesign for the new model year that borrows more than a little inspiration from the automaker’s lineup of crossover SUVs. On the other hand, the Venza name is getting reused and will be a two-row hybrid crossover SUV. Since the two vehicles were revealed to the world in May 2020, people have been contacting the Serra Toyota showroom to ask our product expert about the fuel economy information for the 2021 Toyota Sienna and Venza. We don’t have exact figures for either vehicle, but we can give potential customers an overview.

How efficient is the 2021 Toyota Sienna?

Toyota appears to be doing away with the traditional V-6 engine used in previous versions and will using a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder hybrid engine. It will make 243 net horsepower and offer up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity. Owners of the 2021 Sienna can expect the hybrid minivan to be able to record a city/highway combined 33 miles per gallon.

Efficiency scores for the 2021 Venza

Like the 2021 Sienna, the 2021 Toyota Venza will also be powered by a similar version of the same naturally aspirated 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. However, the Venza crossover SUV will produce 219 net horsepower and can record city/highway combined fuel economy scores of around 40 miles per gallon.

Do these vehicles need to be plugged in to charge?

There are some hybrid vehicles that need to be plugged in to charge their battery systems. Neither the 2021 Toyota Venza nor 2021 Toyota Sienna will fall under this category. Both vehicles will naturally charge their batteries through the normal course of driving. Additionally, both vehicles are equipped with the automaker’s EV Mode which will allow for short trips that don’t require any gas.
