Gas Mileage for the 2020 Toyota Camry with AWD
The Toyota Camry is such a force within the global automotive industry that any news about a new model is going to generate buzz. However, the announcement that the popular midsize sedan is going to finally be available with all-wheel-drive took that native excitement up another level or two. Our manufacturing partner as finally released some new information about gas mileage for the 2020 Toyota Camry with AWD. Serra Toyota customers interested in the 2020 Camry will be able to add the Dynamic Torque Control AWD system as a standalone option on the LE, XLE, SE and XSE trims. Let’s take a look at how this new capability will affect the sedan’s fuel economy scores.
2020 Camry AWD Performance Specs
When the first 2020 Camry models with all-wheel-drive arrive at dealerships like Serra Toyota, the sedan will only be available with the 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Most versions of the Camry with the AWD system will make 202 horsepower. However, the XSE trim will make 205 horsepower with its dual exhaust setup.
Camry AWD Fuel Economy Scores
It stands to reason that since there is little difference among the various Camry AWD trim grades in terms of performance, there will be little difference in the sedan’s fuel economy scores. All four Camry trim grades with all-wheel-drive (LE, SE, XLE and XSE) will be able to record up to 25 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway.
The 2020 Toyota Camry shares a global chassis platform with the corresponding Toyota RAV4 crossover SUV. Additionally, the two popular Toyota vehicles also share a common engine, transmission and rear differential. This is part of the manufacturer’s effort to make maintenance easier for service technicians and more affordable for vehicle owners.
