Updates and Upgrades to the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Safety Technology
For the 2019 model year of the Toyota RAV4, drivers will see the integration of the anxiously-awaited Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. This second-generation of the impressive Toyota Safety Sense increases driver awareness and attentiveness and hosts a variety of additional technologies as well as revisions to existing features. Safety doesn’t just mean the TSS 2.0 system. The advanced 2019 Toyota RAV4 also houses a number of passive safety systems that work to keep drivers and passengers protected in the event of a collision. These include a total of eight airbags, Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Smart Stop Technology (SST).
Like we said, the 2019 Toyota RAV4 sees the integration of standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. This bundle of active safety systems includes the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), the new Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), and the new Road Sign Assist (RSA). In addition to these systems, the 2019 Toyota RAV4 also comes equipped with a standard backup camera and standard Electronic Parking Brake (EPB).
As well as the standard features mentioned above, the 2019 Toyota RAV4 offers the availability of other safety tech including the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Bird’s Eye View Camera, Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS), and Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RCTB) system.
