New for the 2018 model year is the addition of standard driver-assistive safety equipment. All Highlander models are equipped with the advanced Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) driver-assist technology. TSS-P includes the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD) function; Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA) function; Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) and Automatic High Beams (AHB). All models also come equipped with a standard backup camera.
The 2018 Toyota Highlander comes with a 3.5-liter D-4S Injection V6 engine. This engine, which was introduced for 2017, boosts output to 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. This engine, while powerful, still maintains a stellar EPA-estimated mpg rating. To further enhance fuel economy, the Highlander has a Stop and Start Engine System (S&S) that is used on all Highlander V6 gas models (excluding LE). This means that you'll have the power you want and the efficiency you need in the new 2018 Toyota Highlander.
The 2018 Toyota Highlander has a total cabin volume of 158.7 cubic feet. Even with all seats in use, your Highlander will still allow for 13.8 cubic feet of carrying space behind the third row. Folding the 60/40 split fold-flat third-row seatbacks expands the space to 42.3 cubic feet. You can increase this to 83.7 cubic feet with the 60/40 split fold-flat second row also lowered. This means that you can store all the groceries, gear, or luggage you need in your 2018 Toyota Highlander!
