Pricing and Standard Safety Equipment
At first glance, minivan shoppers may be more interested in the 2019 Honda Odyssey lineup thanks to its smaller starting price tag. However, the 2019 Odyssey’s base trim is a little bare compared to the base trim on the 2019 Toyota Sienna, especially for drivers interested in active safety.
Both the 2019 Toyota Sienna and 2019 Honda Odyssey offer active safety bundles. The 2019 Toyota Sienna lineup comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense which includes Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision with Pedestrian Detection, and Automatic High Beams. The 2019 Honda Odyssey offers Honda Sensing which includes a Collision Mitigation Braking System, a Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a Lane Keeping Assist System. However, the 2019 Odyssey’s Honda Sensing suite is only standard on EX trim levels and above that start at $34,160 - much higher than the base trim of the 2019 Sienna that offers a similar active safety package.
