The Kelley Blue Book highlighted two Toyota vehicles for ease-of-use with child safety seats. These vehicles are the Toyota Highlander and the Toyota Sienna. Both were lauded for having anchors that are easy to reach anchors and a straightforward installation.
According to IIHS.org, the website for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Toyota has more vehicles that have been rated Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety than any other automaker.
The IIHS has recently instituted a LATCH rating program. This program rates the ease of use of LATCH hardware. LATCH hardware is meant for child safety booster and car seats. The Toyota Prius earned a Good+ rating for LATCH from the IIHS, which is the best possible rating. The Toyota engineers determined that deeper anchors and closer anchors both had improved usability if the access to the anchors was large enough.
