2020 Highlander Passenger Capacity
Just like the previous version of the Highlander, the 2020 model offers three rows of seats and can hold seven or eight people, depending on which trim grade they choose to take home. The L and LE models offer seating for eight passengers. The XLE and Limited trims can hold seven or eight and the top of the line Platinum version is only available with a seven-passenger layout.

The driver and front passenger of the 2020 Highlander will have up to 40.4 inches of legroom. Second-row passengers will be able to use up to 41 inches to stretch their legs. Those sitting in the third row will have 27.7 inches of legroom.

Cargo volume
Even when the 2020 Toyota Highlander is completely filled with people, there is still 16 cubic-feet of cargo volume behind the third row. Owners can eliminate the third row of seats and open up the cargo volume to 48.4 cubic-feet. When the vehicle is configured for maximum cargo capacity, as much as 84.3 cubic-feet will be available to haul items.
